Kahuku, HI-- 19-year-old Chris Souza of Hawaii Kai
shot a final round 71 on Turtle Bay Resort’s Palmer Course
to win the 2005 Turtle Bay Amateur. Tadd Fujikawa
finished in second place with rounds of 73 and 71. Souza
carded 4 birdies and 3 bogies to win his first Turtle Bay
Amateur. Conditions remained perfect for this annual
weekend event.
Jun Mun
shot a total of 153 to win the A Flight. B-Flight top
honors went to Butch Humalon for a tournament total
149. Dan Taira fired a two-day total 159 to win the
C Flight Division.
This 36-hole,
two-day event offers amateurs rounds on both of Turtle Bay’s
Palmer and Fazio Course. This is the third year of the
Turtle Bay Amateur.
Turtle Bay is
the only resort on Oahu with 36 holes of championship golf:
the George Fazio and Arnold Palmer courses. The Arnold
Palmer Course plays host to both the Champions Tour Turtle
Bay Championship, and the LPGA’s SBS Open at Turtle Bay. In
