year old Mervin Matsumoto turned back the clock to
capture the 40th Annual OCC Men’s Invitational.
Mervin was the only player to break par over the course of
54-holes, with a one under par 212 total. Under extremely
windy conditions, Mervin’s final round 72 was good enough to
over take 2nd round co-leader Christian Akau.
Christian shot a final round 76 to take 2nd
place. Gary Kong & Kevin Shimomura each shot
73 to come in with a six over par 219 total for third place
honors. Mark Chun had the day’s low round with an
incredible two under par round of 69. The only other player
to match par under the difficult conditions was Matthew
Ma with an even par round 71.
